Hello everyone! Allow me to formally introduce myself. I am Stephanie, a media studies major at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. It took me a while to realize what I liked studying, but after countless hours of facebook, gmail, twitter, concerts, reading, watching films and television shows, etc etc, I realized just how much media fascinates me. Yeah, sure, people don't consider media studies a very prestigious subject to study, but I bet they also don't realize just how much we encounter media every day. It is the single most influential aspect of society, one that teaches us how to live our lives (even though people claim they are not affected by it), and one that keeps us constantly informed about the outside world.

That said, I'd like to analyze all different forms of media on here. Ok, maybe "analyze" is too pretentious...I'd like to comment on different forms of media. Specifically, I am interested in music, photographs, films, and social networking. I hope to learn more about myself and about popular culture by keeping this blog. Thanks for reading :)
